The Workers' Children's Fund is organized exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and complies with laws related to non-profit corporations.

The Fund has no paid staff members, and all tasks related to fundraising, decision-making, and provision of services are performed by an unpaid Board of Directors, or individual volunteers designated by the board. The Board of Directors is currently composed of 15 members, drawn from the fields of social services, law, and accounting. Board members are elected for 3-year terms, and officers of the Board are elected annually.
